Merel Roelands

Biography

Merel Roelands is a researcher working at the Department of Multi-Actor Systems of the Faculty of Technology, Policy and Management and the Delft University of Technology, in collaboration with the Netherlands Environmental Assessment agency (PBL). Merel holds a Master’s degree in Development Economics from Wageningen University & Research and a Master’s degree in Climate Econometrics from the Free University of Amsterdam. She also has experience as a research intern at the World Resources Institute and the Beyond Beans Foundation.

Merel’s work at Center for Social Complexity of Climate Change is about regional economic impacts of EU policies and their contribution to EU cohesion, and about climate adaptation scenarios and impacts in the Netherlands. For these projects she uses both econometric analysis and spatial computable general equilibrium modelling.

After a day in the office, Merel like to go running and or practice yoga. She also enjoys cooking and baking and loves to get a drink with her friends.
