Mikhail is a computational scientist dedicated to making human settlements more livable and resilient. At the Centre for Social Complexity of Climate Change (SC3), he co-develops climate risk labels for the Dutch housing market and seeks to understand the drivers and barriers to individual adaptation decisions at the urban scale. In parallel, he works as a Disaster Resilience Analyst with the World Bank’s Global Facility for Disaster Reduction and Recovery (GFDRR). His broader research interests include computational modelling of cities, refugee camps and informal settlements under extreme heat, floods and infectious disease outbreaks, always with an emphasis on community and individual behaviour. By collaborating across academia, government and international organisations, he works to advance data-driven, equitable policies for both current and future urban challenges.
