Franziska Feldmann is a PhD candidate in the SC3 team at Delft University of Technology. She has a strong interest in understanding human behavior in the new climate.
She holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Psychology and has experience as a research and statistics assistant. Furthermore, Franziska gained practical experience at the science-policy interface through her work at the German Development Agency (GIZ) and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). She also worked at the Leibniz Institute for the Social Sciences (GESIS), where she further developed her expertise in survey design and social science research methodologies.
Systems thinking is a key approach to her work. She wants to integrate psychological insights into system modelling to better capture real-world decision-making processes and to support the design of effective, human-centred policy interventions. As part of the ERC-SPHINX project, Franziska studies decision-making under climate risks and long-term expectations of households and firms. Her research focuses on developing survey instruments to collect missing behavioural data and improve our understanding of how individuals and firms perceive and respond to climate-related risks over time.
